There is training available to all levels, from grads through to emerging leaders through to seniors. This training include personal development and program training.
Graduate development training is ok but not comprehensive.
Grad training, Project manager training
Good public speaking training, and client interaction.
Lots of different training around soft skills. Social awareness, understanding of self, dealing with pressure etc.
Training is fine and adequate when provided. Training however is few and far between
If joining as a graduate, there is a two year training program where you complete half day or day training sessions to build skills for working in a consulting environment. Other training is readily available if requested
We had a graduate program focussing on the 'soft skills' required for consulting. there could be greater emphasis on the technical training, this is very much team dependent (teams being civil, water, environment etc).
Soft skills How to become a professional within the industry Networking
The Graduate Module was one of the best aspects of GHD. The adventure, excitement, ability to meet people from all over NSW and the new skills and branding techniques are an amazing asset.
Opportunities to undertake external training. In house training is pretty good but the majority is just working on the job.
Soft skills workshop for graduates. Communication, report writing, resilience, understanding clients. General company project manager training could be improved.
Graduate program of 2 years has compulsory modules, but they're mostly useless.
Work sent me on a external postgraduate short course at UNSW, so can't complain. I had to put in a business case and get my manager's approval. The graduate program helps with courses focusing on soft skills
Very good, impressive amount of thought has been put into it. Psychology.
Formal training can be a bit clunky as it is based around being in the office which i am often not. But informal training has been phenomenal. I have learnt so much is such a short time.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane
GHD has some formal training through the graduate program, but the majority of the training is on the job.
Some of the graduate program training courses are obviously unnecessary, while others are relevant. If the money saved from cutting the superfluous courses was put into running more relevant ones, the program would be much more successful and worthwhile.
Various seminars and lectures
Company needs to improve culture around training. I can spend time doing training but viewed as a secondary consideration. Some training sessions are run for grads. Best training is on-the-job learning.
