How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
I think generally interaction is pretty good however there is a high level of management who we don't see very often.

Manager is good. There is however no such thing as praise or recognitions
Graduate, Sydney
Managers are always happy to provide feedback if you ask for it. Formal feedback is currently every 6 months, however is to increase in the future to a more informal system, with opportunities for discussions more often
Graduate, Brisbane
Managers are polite and conversational, it is up to the individual to be proactive in making conversation.

Midlevel, Sydney
Team managers are personable, helpful and really care about their staff

Very accessible. Recognition done well - 5 year certificates, major milestone/project recognition. Mentoring could be done better.

The managers make a real effort to talk to everyone in the company - this is something I really like about GHD.

Terrible service group manager. Team leaders are much better on the other hand.

I'm happy with my boss/managers, but this is largely team specific. The performance review process changed this year to be less formal more conversational. I used this mainly to talk about future training / work opportunities.

I have had issues with my manager due to their own personal issues and them being unreachable. but i have watched many others have fantastic relationships with their managers and I have found plenty of others to act as mentors. Just need to find someone to chat about performance feedback formally with my manager MIA.
Graduate, Sydney/ Brisbane
Always accessible. Exceptional mentors. Monthly recognition and feedback. Yearly professional development discussions.
Graduate, Melbourne
Managers are busy, but are always willing to have a chat to you.

The team leaders and group managers are exceptional. The upper management are great at doing their job, but possibly too infrequently have the opportunity to talk to the base of the workforce.

Managers are often very busy, and due to flat structure one person typically manages the entire group. However, if you can catch at a good time, senior engineers are willing to give time of day and give meaningful feedback, advice and recognition.
Graduate, Perth
Quite accessible, willing to answer complex questions.
